My amazing artist brother, Michael Fraser, is featured in the November issue of Maine Home & Design Magazine. Michael inspired me to try my first oil painting back in December of 1995 and ever since then we have created, collaborated and grown together as artists. It is such a thrill to see his work featured in one of our favorite magazines! Congrats, Mikey–I am so proud of you. Visit Michael’s website here: www.artbymichaelfraser.net Or drop by the studio to check his work out in person–just email me to make an appointment.
The Open Studios Tour is THIS Sunday! Come spend the day on the East End & visit 12 different artists’ studios while meandering through the scenic streets of Munjoy Hill. Pack a picnic or get some yummy food from one of our neighborhood restaurants or markets. This day is always so much fun! And there are AMAZING prizes at the end of the day. Don’t miss it! And of course the “Calvin Sale” paintings will be here & lots more. Hope to see you Sunday!
While I was in Vermont last week enjoying some Summer fun at my family’s cottage on Lake Champlain, my pup, Calvin, got injured. There was no particular event or apparent reason for the injury, but Calvin just started screaming on our first morning there. We couldn’t tell if it was his head, neck, legs, or what. I checked him over & had him rest on his beddie. He seemed better for a little bit, but then he would move funny & start screaming again. I had never heard or seen a dog in pain like that–it broke my heart. I took him to the local vet & they said it looked like a back or neck injury & they gave him a painkiller & muscle relaxant & said with some rest he may improve … & if not to take him to a neurologist when we got home.
It looked liked he was making headway, but Saturday morning after he went out to tinkle, he completely froze up. He couldn’t stand or walk at all. It was so scary. We grabbed him & headed over to the ER/Maine Veterinary Referral Center to have him checked out. He was in a lot of pain, terrified and couldn’t move. They told us it looked like a ruptured disc & that he’d likely need surgery. We left him there overnight for some tests & an MRI.
Long story short, Calvin did not require surgery & is now walking after a steroid treatment. He is still a little tired & weak in his legs, but his sassy little personality is back & we are so relieved. Calvin is supposed to lay low for 8 weeks & avoid jumping, climbing & play with his boisterous sister, Zoe. That will be a challenge … as will monitoring his reactive personality.
Between the 2 vet visits the tab came to over $3600. OUCH! To help offset the costs of the bills I am offering a crazy good CALVIN SALE on some of my larger pieces, as well as a 2 month payment plan, if needed. :-) If you have ever wanted a larger “EFraser” painting to hang on your wall, now would be the time! I’ve never made an offer like this before & don’t plan on doing it again. :-) Shop away! Click here to view the amazing deals!
COMMISSIONS: I am also offering LARGE commissions or pet portraits (36×36 or 30×40) for $600 instead of $1000. Click on the appropriate link to place your order & simply e-mail me several pics of what you would like painted to email@example.com. Local commission, to be picked up — Commission to be shipped.

Join us in our hometown of Hudson, Ohio for a special art show to honor our dad who is retiring after 50 plus years in education! The show, “Lugares,” will feature paintings of some of our dad’s favorite places and the many places that have touched his life. Join us for the Opening Reception on Thurs, June 5th from 6-8pm or drop by during reunion weekend to check it out Fri, June 6th-Sun, June 8th at the Moos Gallery in the Knight Fine Arts Center.
Many of us are familiar with Farm Shares or CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) where you buy a share of a farm’s crop before the season begins & then you receive weekly deliveries of the crops as they become available. It’s such a fun concept! Well, this “Art Share” is similar in concept. You buy a daily painting share & as the year goes on you get 5×5 inch oil on canvas paintings that are created just for you. The catch is that you do not know exactly what you are going to get. Your Art Share can begin on any date you request & will continue every other month for as long as you specify (or more frequently if you choose 8 or 10 paintings).
1. First you pick a theme .
2. Then you pick a quantity of paintings .
3. Then you pick a delivery date.
4. Then you e-mail me your 1, 2 & 3 options! :-) firstname.lastname@example.org
Start the Tour in my studio! I will have maps ready for you & you can view works by 6 other artists who will be set up in my space. This is always such a fun community day! I hope you can drop by! :-) For more details & to download a copy of the map, click here.
