The South Carolina Lowcountry is all marsh, tidal water, and golden light. Creeks and rivers meander through tall spartina grass glowing in the afternoon sun. I love the long wooden docks with their charming covered porches at the end — so typical of this area.
This painting captures our walk down just such a dock, heading out to the boat for a sunset cruise. Warm light, gently swaying grass, and that perfect golden hour on the water came together beautifully.
